Makeup Monday, a tad late

Sorry everyone!  Still getting into the routine I guess.  Anyhoo – I thought I’d cover another beauty product to which I’ve just been introduced (not unlike last week’s Murad eye cream).  This also has to do with the eye area: brow powder!  Specifically, Anastasia’s Brow Powder Duo, available in 5 different color combinations for $22 at sephora.com.  Mind you, I have not invested in the product; I did however get 2 free samples, one of which constitutes several uses alone (at least for me).

We all know that the “strong brow” is ’so hot right now’ but I think we all also know that thick, heavy brows, well-groomed as they may be, should probably stay on the runway and not in the office.  However, much of the literature out there has been telling us for some time now that a fuller, darkened brow can help the entire eye stand out on the face.  Armed with said wisdom, I took an eyeliner brush (with the thin, angled edge) and dabbed into the darker shade from the “Ash Blonde” duo (I am pretty fair skinned w/dark brow hair).  I applied to satisfaction, and was very impressed.  My brows looked fuller but not caterpillar-like, and application even for a novice was so easy.  A better-defined brow does in fact seem to bring out the eye!

Even so, I’m not sure if I’ll make the leap and buy the full-sized product.  Now that the holidays and their respective festivities are rolling around, I’ll likely just use my samples then when I’m getting ready.  I’ve gone this long w/o powdering my brows that I’m not convinced it’s something else I need to add to my already fairly laborious routine.  Give it a few more years though, and I’m sure I’ll decide it’s something else I need to be doing to my face.

Summary: If you’ve been wanting to amp up your brows but aren’t armed with a professional makeup artist’s techniques, this is the product for you.  If you’re more or less ok with the state of your swaths of facial hair, then maybe save the $22 for the next must-have.
